I've been amazed at both the pageantry and costumes which are merely clever play on words. I think those may be my favorite - juxtaposition and irony. However, I will give a slow clap to an elaborate, head-piece adorned ensemble. In years past I've had costumes with enormous wing spans, some were drenched in sticky fake blood. This year I didn't do anything crazy. I pulled something out of my closet. Deadlines and starting bells consume my Halloween this year. There is so much to get done.
As of this writing I've not announced what my Nanowrimo project will be because there is serious debate going on amongst the various portions of my brain. It's a bit scary in there, actually. What I do know, is that November will also kick off my month of gratitude. Every day on my FB author page I will say thanks to a writer - living or dead, in romance or horror, of books or television - that I am grateful for. Grateful that they picked up a pen, typewriter, laptop, tablet or smart phone. Grateful that I stumbled across, or was led to, their work. Grateful for the artistry their work showed me was possible.
